About Me

As the founder of an early-stage startup, using technology to help people live healthy lives is at the core of what I do.
I advise startup founders and corporate innovation leaders on strategies to transform their entrepreneurial vision into viable tech ventures.

For over 20 years, I’ve developed innovative technology solutions and driven digital transformation initiatives at global organizations. It includes product development at SAP and technology consulting at BearingPoint and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

It has been enriching, personally and professionally, to work on three continents, with diverse teams in multiple timezones, and for Fortune 500 clients across the United States.

Digital health in a value-based care setting has been my area of expertise over the last 12 years. One of the highlights was leading the development of a comprehensive Electronic Health Record (EHR) that met regulatory compliance and earned a top spot on the Blackbook EHR satisfaction poll.

The initiative involved commercialization efforts, transforming organizational culture, and spinning-off a new business venture at an integrated health system.

I received my undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at Manipal University (India) and MBA at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. I’ve also completed the Executive Program on Leadership at Yale School of Management.

I love working with diverse teams, encouraging them to be their best selves, deliver meaningful results, and have fun while doing it!

Opportunities to inspire and elevate the women around me have been some of my most rewarding moments professionally. My philanthropic and volunteer efforts rally around the causes of healthcare, STEM education, and empowering girls and women.

Growing up in a middle-class family, education was once my ticket to a better life. But the learning hasn’t stopped since. I never read just one book at a time. If it isn’t music playing in the background, it’s a podcast.

I live in the greater Chicago area with my husband Amit, our daughters Anoushka and Mihira, a black labrador retriever Olive, and the latest addition, a calico kitten Nala. It’s a bustling home, to say the least, that I’m incredibly grateful for.

The Journey So Far

My strong interest in both healthcare and technology led me to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering. Following graduation, though, my career took a different path than I had planned. As an only child raised in India, I had the socio-cultural obligation and a strong sense of duty to support my parents, who were then struggling financially. And the dot com bubble had just burst. So, instead of pursuing my master’s degree or searching for that ideal position to enter the healthcare industry, I took the first job offer I got on campus in my junior year.

During my early professional years, I specialized in developing and implementing e-commerce capabilities for businesses and consumers in several industries. It was an enriching experience, personally and professionally, to work on three continents, with diverse global teams in multiple timezones, and for Fortune 500 clients across the United States.

As a technology consultant, I loved fighting new fires, creatively solving problems every day, the challenge of gaining clients’ trust, building strong professional relationships with frequently-changing teams, and the life of a roadwarrior. After more than six years of consulting, then at PricewaterhouseCoopers, I had the chance to return to healthcare technology. And I eagerly took it.

It was an exciting time in healthcare – the regulatory landscape was changing, consumerism was on the rise, and digital health had arrived. I had the perfect opportunity to leverage my unique background and apply digital solutions from several different industries to healthcare.

For the past 12 years, I’ve built expertise in healthcare information technology. During that time, one of the highlights was leading an ambitious initiative to develop a comprehensive Electronic Health Record (EHR) ground-up. It involved commercialization efforts and spinning-off a new business venture at an integrated health system.

To hone my business skills, I completed the Executive MBA program at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. Following which I decided to venture out on my own. Now, I build and advise business ventures that create healthy communities through digital health solutions.
